Pressing on North, we went on to Bangor. If we'd started earlier, then visiting Strangford Lough or the Isle of Man would have been things we wanted to do, but equally we've just past the longest day, and we really want to reach Scotland to have as much time as possible there.

Bangor is a large marina with plenty of space and extremely well protected behind a huge, high breakwater.

Our neighbours in the marina were a Swedish couple in an Ovni 43. They are now cruising South towards the Scillies and Brittany having spent some time in Scotland. We were able to swap notes. We were interested to see that their anchor was a 33kg Rocna which seemed very large. However they said that they had it that large to help cope with thick weed.
